A blanket ban on e-bikes across the Merseyrail network has been likened to a “sledgehammer to crack a nut” as dozens of cyclists took to Liverpool city centre to voice their opposition. Earlier this year the rail operator announced it would no longer permit the vehicles because of safety concerns.
